A Victorian Knitting Journey
A knitting book for the knitter with a love for Jane Eyre and the victorian era. The book offers 14 designs inspired by the famous novels by Charlotte Bronté. There are garments as well as accessories, some of them are reproductions of original victorian patterns, others are new desings in the spirit of the era.
The patterns contain detailed schematics and stitch charts and are written for sizes XS - XL.
As a special treat, you will find ideas on how to bring alive bygone eras with vintage outfits, baking etc.
The book is embellished with nostalgic illustrations and meaningful and humorous quotes from the three novels Jane Eyre, Villette and Shirley.
A Victorian Knitting Journey is a book with fourteen designs inspired by Jane Eyre and other novels by Charlotte Bronté. Some of the designs are adaptions from original Patterns from the late 19.th centure, others are my own designs. These are modern with a vintage, romantic flair to them.
All directions include large schematics and stitch charts. The designs come in sizes XS - XL.
I have also added a chapter about knitting in the victorian era, where I expain, which knitting stitches were fashionable at that time, what the women knit and which yarn they used.
There is another chapter, where I share ideas on how to bring some vintage lifestyle into our modern day lifes, be it trough outfits, cooking and much more.
I would like to take you on a journey into the past and get inspired by Jane Eyre and the other heroines of Charlotte Bronté’s famous novels.
